Clear Coating Imron

Q. Is it possible to apply Dupont 7900 clear coat over Imron. Would there be any adverse effects? We have a Volvo tractor that has been clear-coated (by someone else), and the imron finish does not match it. The owner would like it cleared.

A. I have not worked with DuPont 7900S clearcoat, but it will likely work well over Imron. both are polyurethanes. I strongly suggest you thoroughly scuff sand the existing coating before applying the clearcoat.
