Painting Inside of Fuel Oil Tanks

Q: Is it normal to paint the inside of fuel oil tanks (heating oil for boilers)?

A: For commercial and industrial applications some people coat the inside of fuel oil tanks.  If there is any moisture in the oil and if there is any evidence that corrosion might occur, then one would protect the metal by using a corrosion resistant coating system.

Best wishes,
