How are VOC's measured?

Q. Can you briefly describe how VOC's, in a gallon of paint for instance, are determined and reported?

Where might I find more basic data on emmissions from paint? Your book?

VOCs are determined by following EPA Test Method 24. I believe that you can search for this on the Internet, although I don't have the URL. You can also find the VOC information on the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) of each coating product. Many MSDSs are available online at the manufacturer's website, but if you want to use the more global services, you might need to pay.

Best wishes,

Ron Joseph
