Chemical Resistant Coating for Steel Tank

Q. We have several steel tanks showing signs of internal coating degradation. Concerned about corrosion. Thoughts on what companies might provide recoat service resistant to:

a) sodium hypochlorite, 12%, 70°F.
b) fluorosilicic acid, 25%, 70°F.

A. To apply a chemical resistant coating may I suggest that you locate a metal fabrication shop that has sand blasting or shot blasting capabilities. This could be a one stop shopping experience if the ab shop has painting facilities.

The Carboline Company (www.carboline.com) specializes in high performance chemical resistant coatings for the chemical, petroleum and nuclear energy industries. Their websites should provide information about the chemical resistance and the proper selection of coatings including handling, mixing and application instructions.
