Coatings for Whiteboards

Q. I have heard about a paint that is the equivalent of a white board surface. I have not been able to verify it's existence. Is there someone out there who makes this?

A. You might look at industrial polyurethanes from companies such as Sherwin-Williams, PPG, DuPont, and others. Before you try the coatings, I suggest that you speak to the chemists at these companies to see if polyurethane enamels will work for you. It is possible that the urethanes might need to be formulated specifically for this purpose. Although I do not know of specific formulations or product names, I have heard that polyurethanes are commonly used.

If you do locate suitable coatings, could you please get back to me so that I can add the information to my website for others to benefit.
