Calculation of Emissions From Spray Booths

Q. Is there a formula for calculating how many tons of VOC's we emit into the air. Can we assume it is based on materials purchased and disposed?

A. Unless you have an abatement device on your spray booth you must assume that all of the solvents in your paints and thinners are emitted. Of-course, you can exclude the solvents that go to hazardous waste.

If you need further information, please note that we will be giving an in-depth class on environmental calculations for painting facilities on November 18-19, 2002 to be held in beautiful Monterey, CA.
