Selection of Paint Spray Booth Fan

Q. Is there a preferred fan type - axial or centrifugal - for exhausting an industrial paint spray room? The room has an 8ft. x 10ft. cross section and we plan to specify a 10,000 cfm unit.

A. For a small spray booth you should select a tube axial fan rather than a centrifugal fan. The centrifugal fan ins intended for much higher air flow rates. If you go to the website for Hartzel Fans www.hartzellfan.com you will find a good deal of information on this topic.

Best wishes,
