CARC with Cadmium Plate

Q. I am bidding a job that calls for A36 angle material to be cadmium plated then top coat OD Green CARC. Our local CARC finisher says "the cadmium will contaminate our various process steps." Does anyone do this process? We are
located in Milwaukee WI. Thanks

A. To the best of my knowledge cadmium plating is a thing of the past. It's toxicity has made it an obsolete process in the US.
