Recirculated Air in a Spray Booth

Q: Have you come across a technology that will place a manned (air supplied respirators)spray booth which recirculates air (90%) in compliance with OSHA/NFPA? According to the NFPA this is allowed, however MNOSHA is stating that a company will also need to measure isocyanate levels to 10% of the PEL in the returned recirculated air.

A: This is quite possible. Some companies do recirculate the air, and I suggest that you call the folks at Global Finishing Systems in Wisconsin, since they are familiar with designing booths of this nature.
