Intumescent Coatings for Ventilation Ducts

Q. I would like to know if there is any intumescent paint for ventilation and/or extraction ducts that provides a fire protection of 60, 90 or 120 minutes.

To the best of my knowledge individual paint companies can only advertize a fire rating to their intumescent coatings if they are tested by UL. The paint company must speficy what tests are to be performed by UL and for how long.

Therefore, to answer your question, you will need to write to paint companies who sell such coatings and ask if any of their products are certified to withstand the fire ratings that you require. Unfortunately I don't have that information.

Best wishes,

Ron Joseph
