Porcelain Enamel - Bath Tub Paint

Q. Can you use a do it yourself spray paint to change the color of a porcelain older tub. Aryclic paint maybe?

A. Somehow I doubt that you will get any longevity of the repainted tub unless you use something like an epoxy. There are speciality epoxy coatings for this purpose, but I doubt that you can purchase them from a hardware store.. There are companies that specialize in repairing and redoing tubs and I strongly suggest that you contact them for suggestions. An acrylic might well will work, provided that you use the tub solely for decoration and not for washing purposes.

Best wishes,

Ron Joseph
