Zinc Chromate Primer and Red Oxide Zinc Chromate Primer

Q. Is there any difference between zinc chromate primer and red oxide zinc chromate primer? Please clarify.

A. Zinc chromate is a chemical that is added to a primer to prevent or retard corrosion. Red oxide is also chemical that provides excellent exterior durability. A red oxide, zinc chromate primer contains both chemicals; one to prevent or retard corrosion, and the other to provide excellent exterior durability. You get the best of both worlds.
