UV Resistant Coating for Wood

Q. Can you recommend a type of clear coating which will hold up as well as possible on south facing wooden doors in sunny Tucson, AZ?

A.Usually, polyurethanes do well, and I suggest you check this out with your local paint supplier. I used a clear polyurethane on the front doors of my house (which face the California sunlight), but I don't know yet for how many years I will get good life out of the coating. I hope I made the right choice.
